JerseyPayments FIELD GUIDE
Read a statement before comparing rates
A headline percentage rarely describes the entire cost of accepting payments.
Match the period
Use card sales and fees from the same statement period. Identify refunds, adjustments, and timing differences before doing a comparison.
Group the costs
Separate transaction charges, recurring fees, software, hardware, and unusual items. Keep the same categories when comparing proposals.
Calculate the effective rate
Divide total processing fees by card sales for a broad view. It is a comparison aid, not a replacement for understanding each fee.
Ask for written answers
Request an explanation of unclear charges and the assumptions behind proposed savings. Arrange secure sharing before sending statements with sensitive information.
Keep the conversation grounded.
Merchant education and enquiries handled through Process Rite’s existing form. Availability, pricing, approval, funding, and contract terms require written confirmation. No guaranteed savings.
